Off-axis helmet mounted displays (OA-HMDS) are used in various fields, but refractive types are declining in popularity due to poor light transmission and limited spectral range. We propose a solution using efficient polarization converters and a polarizing beam splitters coating (PBS), enhancing optical efficiency with a compact projection module and spherical collimator. Our design offers a monocular field of view of 50° diagonally and features a 10 mm entrance pupil with 76.26 mm eye relief. It operates reliably from -40°C to +70°C achieving a diffraction-limited resolution of 1920 × 1200 wide ultra extended graphics array (WUXGA).
