|
Low-noise amplifier (LNA) is a notable element in RF radio receivers to enhance the desired signal and improve the performance of the receiver. Linear property of LNA must be focused due to the existence of different noisy signals and interferers. In addition, extended linearity range leads to less harmonics generation. In this paper, 180-nm technology is used to design an efficient LNA in ultra wide-band (UWB) frequencies with high linearity and low-noise properties. The design is based on using power derivative technique which improves the linearity property and achieves lower noise figure. The simulation results show the gain of 11.125 dB with consumed power of 25.5 mW where the supply voltage is 1.5 V. Noise figure is achieved as 2.6 dB while the reflection (S11) is less than −13.35 dB. IIP3 which shows the linearity characteristic is obtained as 18.599 dBm at the frequency range of UWB (3.1–10.6 GHz) which is desirable.
