Propagation of electrostatic waves in an array of parallel infinitely long metallic wires is investigated. General expressions for the dispersion relation and polarization are presented. Existence of electrostatic oscillations is due to the anisotropic property of the system. Similar results can be found for the electrostatic plasma waves propagating at an angle to a static magnetic field in an array of metallic nanospheres.
